Wedding Acceptance Card

Good morning,

Well, the weather here seems to have turned much colder and we mostly had rain over the weekend. This meant that the BBQ we had planned ended up being cancelled and the food was cooked indoors! It was also my son's 21st Birthday yesterday and I still feel stuffed from the family meal we had last night. Let the diet commence for the rest of the week!

I'm sharing a Wedding Acceptance Card I made recently for one of the girls at work who is getting married at the end of May. The colour theme for the wedding is Yellow and Kraft hence the colours on this card. I've also made some bunting for the bride which I'll share in a later post.

Sweet Little Gothic Girl

Hey-de-ho me lovelies,

Apologies for being so hit and miss with my blog recently...we seem to have had an endless stream of house guests staying with us (it's been a fab summer though, so not moaning) and what with fitting in work around the school holidays means there hasn't been much time for anything else. I do hope to remedy that soon though and get back into blogging on regular days!

Anyhoo, I'm sharing a card today that I made for Sophie's friend Liv, who turned 14 at the end of June and although it's a very clean and simple design, for once I feel that less is definitely more. I'm so pleased with the way the colours work on this card and the little goth girl is absolutely adorable.

I merged 2 digital images together for this card.  The little goth girl is a pre-coloured image from The Paper Shelter and the fence in the background is a pre-coloured image from Pink Gem Designs.  I have to say, that one of the things I absolutely love about working with digital images, is that they're so versatile and adaptable.

DigiStamp Boutique...Easter Balloon Chicklet

Good evening you lovely lot,

I've been awol over the last week and my poor blog has been very neglected. We've had some family events that have kept me away from crafting but hopefully normal service will be resumed this week!

I cut this card base out over a week ago and coloured in this cheeky, little chick from the DigiStamp Boutique but I only just got round to making the card up this evening.

This little sweetie is one of 3 images in the Cute Chicklets Easter Collection and they are so adorable I know I'll be using them all for my Easter cards this year.

It's a Girl and a Boy!

Good morning lovely crafters,

I've got two cards to show you today and they're both baby cards!

First up is the baby girl card which is for my niece Lauren and her husband Johnny. They welcomed they're beautiful daughter Isla into the world on the 23rd October and she was a perfect 7lb 15oz

Second card is for my lovely work colleague Vicki (and her partner Dave) who gave birth to the gorgeous Freddie on the same day that Isla was born! Bit of a coincidence as they were due a week apart however they were born in different hospitals.

Sorry You're Leaving

Morning everyone, hope its a bit brighter where you are coz it rained here all day yesterday and it felt really cold...I want the warm, sunny weather back!

I'm off to see the Aussie comedian, Adam Hills tonight at our local theatre...he was hilarious during the Paralympics last summer with his show 'The Last Leg' and he's back on TV at the moment with a new series on Channel 4.

I was asked to make a card for a male work colleague who is leaving to work elsewhere within the company but the card wasn't to be too fussy or cute and suitable for a man!

I had to put my thinking cap on for this one and I remembered I had some wooden alphabet stamps stashed away in the cupboard and set about stamping out the words you see on the card. I coloured the stamps with a 'Poppy Red' Promarker and you can't see too well in the photo but every few letters were raised on a 3D pad to give a bit of interest and dimension.

I kept the embellies fairly clean and simple too and have to say the card looked much better in real life than it does in the photo!

A Gem of a Challenge #64...Holidays

Morning you lovely lot, from a very sunny Hertfordshire. I'm pleased to report that we didn't get even a smidging of the threatened snow fall last night which is just as well as I had my car cleaned yesterday and it's as clean and sparkly as a new pin.

It is with some sadness I am posting my last card as a member of the A Gem of a Challenge design team. It's been amazing working with Janet's digis but I just feel the time is right to move on and although I'll miss working with the girls, as they are a lovely lot, but at least I can still stalk their blogs!

I don't think I was popular with the girls with the theme I chose this week... HOLIDAYS! Everyone struggled with this one but to clarify it can be, Summer Holidays, Winter Holidays (Christmas), Easter Holidays or indeed any other holidays you can think of. I chose to run with an Easter Holiday theme and you'll just need to make sure you tell us in your own post what Holiday theme you have followed with your project.

A Gem of A Challenge #61...Lilac & Lace

Morning gang, hope you're all OK and not too stressed with your Christmas preparations...I've just got a few pressies to wrap this weekend, mince pies to make and food shopping to be done and then we're all set for the big day...musn't forget the turkey!

Check out the theme of our current challenge LILAC & LACE over at A Gem of A Challenge and see if you can spot the deliberate mistake on my card...I'm such a numpty sometimes and think one of my new year resolutions is to make sure I read things properly before leaping into action...I mis-read the theme as Lilac & Lemon...doh!

The rest of the design team are definitely not on the naughty list as they have followed the theme properly and they have some really pretty creations to share with you.

There are also 4 Pink Gem digi's up for grabs for the winner of this challenge and you can check out all the details over on the challenge blog.

Oh, and this card is 8" x 8"

Gems of Inspiration...Penguin Card

Morning you lovely lot...it's not often you see me on a Tuesday buts it's my turn to post on the Gems of Inspiration blog so I'm sharing this uber cute lil' penguin card that I made over the weekend.

I decided to go for a fairly clean and simple design and I've gone outside my comfort zone by using blue and orange together.  They're not normally colours I would go for but I'll definitely use them again...I think they look quite striking together...what do you think?
