Proud Grandparents Card

Good morning,

It's very soggy and wet here this morning from so much rain yesterday. I think we are due more rain today so it may be an indoors kind of day!

My work colleague recently became a grandparent for the first time and she's been so excited about her little grandson I wanted to make her a card to celebrate his arrival. I found this pre-coloured image which was perfect for the clean and simnple design I had in mind. If I used the image again though I would probably make it a bit smaller within the aperture but unfortunately I didn't have time to reprint it for this card.

Fabulous Fashion Step Card

Good morning,

I’ve always wanted the Katy Sue Designs Fabulous Fashion and Fabulous Shoes CD’s but didn’t originally purchase them as I couldn’t justify the cost at £24.99 each. Imagine my delight when I recently discovered them for sale on a FB craft selling website…£18 for the two! These little beauties are normally snapped up pretty quick and I’m so happy that I was able to get them.

Craft time seems to be a bit scarce at the minute, hence why you have recently been seeing a few more cards on my blog using pre-coloured images. Although the image on this card was pre-coloured I’ve used my Promarkers over the top just to add a little extra depth of colour and shading.

Daughter Birthday Card

Good morning to you all,

It was my daughters 15th birthday a couple of weeks ago and this was the card I made for her from me and my hubby. Sshe's absolutely shoe mad and this image from the DigiStamp Boutique was just perfect for her.

I part coloured and part paper-pieced the image, the wording was created on the computer. I love that digital images are so versatile and you can basically prep a topper on the computer and print...I guess some may call it cheating though lol!

Wedding Acceptance Card

Good morning,

Well, the weather here seems to have turned much colder and we mostly had rain over the weekend. This meant that the BBQ we had planned ended up being cancelled and the food was cooked indoors! It was also my son's 21st Birthday yesterday and I still feel stuffed from the family meal we had last night. Let the diet commence for the rest of the week!

I'm sharing a Wedding Acceptance Card I made recently for one of the girls at work who is getting married at the end of May. The colour theme for the wedding is Yellow and Kraft hence the colours on this card. I've also made some bunting for the bride which I'll share in a later post.

50th Birthday Invites

Good morning,

Woohoo...get me posting 2 weeks in a row and today I'm sharing some invites I was asked to make for a work colleague who celebrated her 50th Birthday recently.

The brief was very simple...a black and white colour theme with a formal/elegant design. I opted for an A6 gatefold design and printed the design papers directly onto hammered cardstock.

This is the inside of the invites...again a fairly simple design with a black mat and silver border to frame the text. They were a great hit with my colleague which thankfully was a job well done!

Flowery Happy Birthday

Good morning,

Hope you're all OK and enjoying the current warm, sunny weather we're having here in the UK...always nice to have a good end to the summer...it will be cold soon enough and we'll all be yearning for spring again!  Hark at me, the voice of doom!

Talking of Spring..I made this card a while ago but forgot to blog it. I used my fav Cheery Lyn Step Card Die and also finally managed to break into one of my LOTV Art Pads that I've had for ages but have never used...slapped wrist for me...so many nice things and just not enough time to play with them!

60th B'Day Card

Morning you lovely lot. It's still really cold here and showing no signs of letting up either. I guess we should be thankful that we haven't had much snow apart from the old flurry here and there. I hope you are managing to stay warm...best weather for staying indoors and crafting me thinks!

I was asked to make a 60th birthday card for a lady who is mad about Arsenal but they did not necessarily want a footy image on it. I racked my brains and came up with red and white gingham with a navy mat and the lady who ordered the card seemed really happy with the end result especially as she didn't want anything too girly.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges...
Paper Playtime #5...Anything Goes (ends 17/3/13)
Challenges 4 Everybody #15...Anything Goes (ends 15/3/13)

Digital Design Papers: Carol Clarke
Card Stock: SU! (Night of Navy)
Embellishments: Flowers and gems from my craft stash
Tools: Nestabilities and Cricut machine to cut the large numbers

Baby Thank You Cards

Good morning lovely crafters. Monday again and fortunately we seem to have started the week without any snow and fingers crossed it stays that way! I had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday and I was thoroughly spoilt by hubby and the kids...I had some lovely flowers, choccies, perfume and some gorgeous craft papers too...I can't wait to play with them!

Anyhoo onto today's card. You've seen the card for the mummy-to-be and you've seen the nappy cake too, so today I'm sharing some little thank you notelets that the mum-to-be asked me to make and the only brief was that she wanted something in spring colours...cue lemon and lilac!

I don't know why the gems look wonky...they don't look like that in real life.

Baby Shower

Morning me lovelies...looks like we are set for some warm weather over the next few days and quite timely too as I have booked next week off work. I can't wait for the break especially as I've not had a full week off work since Christmas 2011!

I needed to make a baby shower card recently and immediately chose to use this fab image from the Digi Stamp Boutique. I've really not been in the mood for colouring recently (one of my pet hates) so took the opportunity to do some paper piecing. The mum-to-be doesn't know the sex of the baby so I went with lilac and lemon as neutral colours.

Lilac & Lace

Afternoon me lovelies, I hope you are all enjoying the very warm weather...I daren't complain it's too hot for fear of the rain coming back!

I've popped indoors in between ice pops to post this card...I don't really do lilac very often coz it frightens me! Card size is A5.

Little Red Fairy

Good morning to a very wet Saturday morning, beginning to wonder if we'll ever see the sun again!

I made this card earlier on this week...I really love red and white together especially when there's a bit of gingham involved! The image is a pre-coloured square from LOTV but I had to colour over the pink bits with red PM's to tie in with my papers...think I just about got away with it!

Wedding Card (8x8 Square)

Good morning, good morning...I hope everyone has had a good weekend...at least we had some respite from the rain and saw some sun, I was beginning to think my wellies would become waterlogged!

My friend at work asked me to make a wedding card for her. The only brief was pink gingham and a bit of a cottagey feel...I'm not sure I've totally achieved what she was looking for but she seemed pleased with it which is the main thing.

Woohoo it's the weekend again...I've had a such a busy week at work and I'm looking forward to relaxing a bit this weekend and doing a bit of crafting. I think I'll have to blow the dust off my desk though!

We have a lovely new challenge over at CES Challenges today and the theme chosen by the gorgeous Jenny is BUTTON IT! I love using buttons on my cards, especially baby cards! I've been at the paper piecing again, so much quicker than colouring...perfect for when I'm short of time!
