Butterfly Birthday Card

I know you probably don't need reminding the weather is rubbish at the moment but boy was it cold here yesterday...we even put the heating on at work it was so chilly! What's the betting it will be warm and sunny next week when the kidz are back in school!

You may recognise the design of this card...I made a similar one a while ago in turquoise and thought I'd make one in peach this time! I think it looks quite striking with the black mat behind the papers and image and I might make a few more of these as they are a really quick and easy card to put together! This card was for hubby's Aunty Audrey and as she has just turned 93 years of age I didn't really think a cutesie image was appropriate for the occasion...hubby said she loved the card so mission accomplished!

Butterfly Wishes

I wonder if we might get through today without any rain? Hmmm...fingers crossed it does stay dry and that we get a nice warm sunny evening for Sophie's leavers BBQ at school! I think we are all fed up with the weather now...who would have thought it was mid July!

Anyhoo, onto my card which I've made for Sophie's teacher...well, Mrs Clark actually left a few weeks ago on maternity leave but she's coming into school on Friday to attend the leavers assembly and Sophie wanted to get her a special present and card. I was blog hopping recently and found this gorgeous freebie butterfly digi and instantly knew I wanted to make a card with it...I printed it onto matching DP's and felt really brave using black card for the matting....this card is really sparkly IRL as I added lots of stickles but once again the camera hasn't picked the sparkle up...stoopid camera!
