It's my first week as a GD over at Cupcake Craft and the theme this week, set by Jenny is to 'Alter Something. This really challenged me (which is good) as I have never altered anything before and after rifling through practically every drawer and cupboard in the house I settled on a jar that contained Cranberry sauce that was left over from Christmas. I ditched the contents in the bin, put the jar through the dishwasher and once dry set about creating my masterpiece lol! I've used design papers from a DCWV word paper stack and I've used ribbons, flowers and brad from my stash. I've covered the lid with a nestie and then another just for matting and layering. I then filled my jar with teeny weeny marshmallows and gave the gift to Sophie for Valentine's Day. I really enjoyed my first attempt at altering something and my thanks go to Jenny and the Cupcake Craft Challenge for giving me this opportunity to be a GD and to alter my first item. TFL :)
Absolutely beautiful Donna! I'm totally a coward when it comes to altering things, my first attempt was a complete disaster and it's put me off. I would never have known this gorgeous jar of goodies started off as a cranberry sauce jar LOL, it's amazing, brilliant job Donna! I bet Sophie loved it. Chris x
Love this jar sooo much!!! I wouldn't have noticed it was a cranberry sauce jar if you hadn't have mentioned it! You are such a great artist when it comes to creativity!!! Once again you did a massively great job.
What a fantastic example of altered art! It looks fab! I saw this on the challenge site and was really inspired! I love it! If somebody gave me this as a pressie I would be 'over the moon'!
I have always enjoyed having a hobby and in recent years I have knitted, cross-stitched and done a bit of sewing but cardmaking took over when I went on a beginners course in 2005. I also enjoy crocheting...nothing too fancy, mainly granny squares and baby blankets. I have a real soft spot for digi images and paper downloads especially gingham, stripes and polka dots.
If you are inspired by any of my cards or ideas I am more than happy for you to use them but would ask that you give me credit for the design and that you don't submit any of my designs to any publication as a competition entry. Please donot directly copy any of my cards or use the ideas as your own. I hope you enjoy looking at my Blog.
